Some travellers will say the best way to experience Niagara Falls is by boat or they might even suggest standing idly by at the edges. But why not take a thrilling risk to experience the famous falls just a bit closer?

A new and exciting feature has recently been added to the stunning natural wonder that has the power to change the way tourists experience the falls.

Four parallel zip lines have been installed at a 67-metre-high vantage point that will take adventurous travellers from top to bottom of the Niagara Gorge. The trip will take you 670 metres across the water at an exhilarating 70 kilometres per hour.

The quick trip might only be thirty seconds long, but as you soar through one of the most beautiful places on earth being spritzed by cool Niagara Falls water, it will most likely end up the highlight of your holiday.

Canadian adventure company Wild Play Elements Parks created the appropriately named Mist Rider as a way of letting tourists experience the falls in a more intimate and thrilling way.

Travellers must be under 124kg and dressed in appropriate secured clothing with closed toe shoes. If you are worried about lack of experience, stop stressing, as each trip is fully guided by an expert who will provide you with all the safety information prior to flying. The zip line experience will cost you AU$60 (US$45, £34), but for all the adrenaline junkies out there, it'll surely be worth every cent.

The adventure trip is only available until October in the summer season as when the cooler months arrive the falls are frozen over and turn into somewhat of a winter wonderland.

The zip line attraction is the newest addition to the wide variety of activities tourists have to choose from at the National Park. People can decide between the aquarium down the road, the observation tower, water illuminations and boat tours.

This trip might not be for the faint-hearted, but they do promise a safe and smooth ride for people of all ages to experience. Relaxing back in a secure harness while you cruise over the icy blue waters of one of the most famous waterfalls in the world doesn’t sound too bad to us!
