If there’s one inevitable thing that could ruin the first few days of your trip or the first few days back at home, it’s jet lag.
Fortunately, Etihad Airlines has teamed up with Panasonic Avionics Corporation to develop a series of wellness solutions aimed at enhancing the traveller’s experience. Etihad will be the first airline to trial Panasonic’s Jet Lag Adviser, which will be integrated into the airline’s passenger app.
The app will record individuals’ personal information including chronotype (sleep pattern), circadian rhythms, height, weight, the nature of travel, and other travel information like the flight times, routes and regions.
Then, it uses its artificial intelligence engine to produce personalised jet lag plans for passengers – with tips to help them reduce jet lag.
At different stages of the flight the Jet Leg Adviser will send several recommendations on what to do to reduce the issue, such as sleep, exposure to light, exercise, hydration and food intake. By following the recommended tips, the Jet Lag Adviser promises to help passengers feel more energetic.
Etihad Aviation Group Chief Commercial Officer, Robin Kamark, said in a statement: “Etihad is committed to providing choice and a superior experience to our guests, and we are continually looking at new ways to do just that. With the Jet Lag Adviser, we can now leverage artificial intelligence to improve the travel experience.
“This will be the first of many wellness initiatives we will explore together, and we are excited about our partnership with Panasonic and the possibilities that lie ahead.”
