Planning your holidays for 2020 yet?
Silversea is now taking bookings for its 2020 world cruise on Silver Whisper – and it’s a true world-first.
The 382-passenger luxury cruise liner will be the first ship to call on all seven continents during a world sailing, visiting an incredible 62 ports in 32 countries – including a stop in Antarctica.
It's an epic itinerary that will delight lovers of long cruises, as this trip is scheduled to take 140 days – or around four-and-a-half months. This world-first voyage will depart from Fort Lauderdale on Florida's southeastern coast on January 6, 2020, and not arrive at its last stop, in Amsterdam, until May 25, 2020.

From Florida, the ship will travel through the Caribbean, down the eastern coast of South America and on to Antarctica, before rounding Cape Horn and heading to the Chilean fjords. The route will then take the Silver Whisper across the sea to the South Pacific and Australia before it makes its way through Southeast and East Asia, journeying through the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea. Then it's on to the Mediterranean, before taking on the European section of this extraordinary journey, including ports in Ireland, the UK and the Norwegian fjords.
The first 'world cruise' set sail on Cunard's RMS Laconia almost a century ago, in 1922. The appeal of this type of trip has never dulled, and a world cruise remains one of the great travel adventures. But the irony is, no 'world cruises' have ever really sailed fully around the world. But this will all change in 2020.
