One of the things that many travellers worry about when going on an overseas trip is having their items stolen, especially the important things like money, identification documents and bank cards. Well, the next time your plan an overseas trip, be sure to pack two purses with you. Here’s why!
Imagine being on a busy bus in a bustling overseas city. You’ve got your hands wrapped around the metal poles to help you stand upright, and before you know it you’re no longer able to make sure all your valuables are still where you left them.
Pickpocketing can be a real problem in some parts of the world but this tip can help ensure that your belongings remain yours right up until you return home.
Another issue to be aware of is being held up by petty thieves, especially when we travellers look like we’re definitely from out of town. If someone asks for your purse, it pays to give it to them, rather than fighting about it and ending up in worse trouble.

But instead of telling someone that you don’t have a purse, you can actually reluctantly give them a second fake purse that you carry just in case incidences like this occur.
Having a second wallet on you, with a little bit of loose change, an old license card and a couple of low value bank notes, will make the petty thieves and pickpockets feel like they’ve ripped you off and taken your money, without putting you too much out of pocket or in any added danger.
If you’re worried about petty thieves going so far as asking you to withdraw money from your bank card, then err on the side of caution and put a bank card into your purse with a small amount of money loaded onto the card. That way you won’t have to worry about being robbed of all your hard-earned cash while you’re away.
