A new study has revealed the world’s most cultural cities, and while some of them are well-known holiday hot spots – there are also a few surprises.

MyVoucherCodes, an online voucher code company in the UK, has analysed some of the world’s major cities on factors such as the amount of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, museums, art galleries and more to try and narrow down which cities have the most cultural experiences to offer.

The usual suspects – Paris, New York and London – are within the top three, however there are some unusual ones such as Seoul — the capital city of South Korea — which ranked fairly highly too.

With three World Heritage Sites, including the impressive Changdeokgung Palace, and more than 200 museums, the huge metropolis came in at number four beating the likes of Rome (seventh place) and Tokyo (fifth place). Meanwhile, Moscow, Shenzhen, Los Angeles and Amsterdam rounded out the top 10.

Elsewhere, other surprising cities which made the list included Brussels in Belgium, Chengdu in China, Bogota in Colombia and Austin in the United States.

Meanwhile, Australia’s major cities Sydney and Melbourne get a look in too, ranking in at 13th and 14th respectively.
