Shibuya is a fashion, shopping and entertainment district for the young and young at heart. You’ll recognize it from its famous landmark Shibuya Crossing where as many as 2,500 people cross the street each time the pedestrian light goes green. Stand at the side of the intersection and watch as the green man flashes and organised chaos reigns on the road. It is truly amazing to watch. Above is a Starbucks you can sit inside, coffee in hand and watch it over and over again. The area is littered with department stores, but you might struggle to find something to your taste here as it’s generally for a younger and much smaller demographic – shoe sizes in particular are notoriously small.
