A popular attraction is the 13th-century Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, which boasts a three-story pagoda decorated with lions and statues of Goddess Buddha.
5 May | Osaka, Japan (for Kyoto) Japan's UNESCO World Heritage ancient capital has a wealth of attractions, historic castles, temples and monuments. Highlights include the magnificent Golden Pavilion with its two top floors completely covered in gleaming gold leaf and Osaka Castle, famous for its cherry trees.
