One Week in Solomons: Eat, drink, snorkel, repeat!

Day 1: Land in Honiara, the capital of Solomon Islands. There will be a friendly local representative to greet you and take you to the island resort. It’s a short car transfer and a 10-minute boat ride and, hey presto – you’ve arrived! Check into your beachfront bungalow and unwind with a relaxing shower. Your holiday has officially begun!

The resort’s ethos is “drinking, eating, sleeping and making every conceivable effort to avoid work” and it takes the tenet very seriously for its guests. The resort’s restaurant and bar prides itself on fresh seafood served in a variety of mouth-watering preparations along with a good selection of drinkies. There are hammocks strung up for a nap under the shade of a palm tree, preferably with the company of a good book and a cocktail.

But the resort’s real value is in the number of scuba-diving and snorkelling hotspots peppering the waters around it. With great snorkelling right off the beach and scores of wall-dives, shark-dives, wreck-dives and more, it is truly a water-sports enthusiast’s nirvana. Go for island tours, hikes to other islands, fishing charters, surfing tours and more – its up to what you feel like doing in the morning. We recommend visiting the Njari island for an excursion – on a single tank dive, you are guaranteed to see over 200 species of fish. Plus, the beach is stunning and is excellent for a beach picnic.

Day 8: Check out of the resort. There will be boat and airport transfers, along with meet-and-greets, to help you to the international airport in Honiara. Fly safe and do visit us again soon!
