7 nights in a cosy Norfolk Island cottage

Day 1: After you land in Norfolk, jump into the airport transfer waiting to take you to the lodge. Check in, unwind with a relaxing hot shower and go for a brisk walk around the woodlands. Your holiday has begun!

The next few days are up to you – make it as exciting or as relaxing as you want it to be. For starters, you can decide on what to do after soaking in the half-day island tour – it’s a great way to winnow down what you want to do from the scores of activities and tours available in Norfolk (book before 14 Feb 2019 to avail). Over one-third of the island is national park territory, so walks and hikes border on excellent. There are over four museums in Kingston, including one dedicated to the artefacts recovered from HMS Sirius. Culinary enthusiasts should definitely book an evening of entertainment with an island cliff-top fish-fry- just ask the tour desk!

Then, swimming and snorkelling are fantastic off the Emily Beach, as is fishing for enthusiasts. Golfers will not be disappointed either – the greens on this island rival any course in the world for technicality as well as views. For a day-trip, we recommend taking a boat trip and a guided trek to Phillip Island.

For specific tours and experiences, use the free rental car we’ve put in your holiday to drive up to the top of Mount Pitt for a magnificent 360-degree view of Norfolk. Then, drive over to the Cockpit waterfalls – it’s a beautiful sight and worth a visit any day. Fishing enthusiasts would be very happy renting a rod and angling off the jetty, the fishes are plentiful! The island is full of experiences for history buffs, naturalists, gourmands, adventurers and more. Also, it’s great for just reading a book in the sun with the forest breezes cooling you down!

Day 8: Check out of the lodge and take the complimentary transfer to the airport. Have a safe flight and visit again soon!

Your one-bedroom Ocean-view cottage at the Ocean Breeze is comfortably-furnished and has great views of the forested hills and the Pacific blues beyond. The cottage comes with a spacious bedroom with a king-size bed (can be split into two singles if needed). The ensuite bathroom is spacious and comes with a shower stall, vanity mirrors and a washing machine.

The living space features comfortable sitting furniture and an open-plan kitchen. The latter is fully-equipped with a microwave, fridge, dishwasher and a gas range.

For indoor entertainment, the living space features a TV, a DVD player and an iPod dock. The lodge also has a shared barbeque range when you’re feeling like unleashing the Jamie Oliver inside. Our recommendation – enjoy the island’s superb sunsets on your private porch. A glass of wine should complete the picture!

Norfolk Island is a remote isle in the Pacific Ocean, set between Australia, New Caledonia and New Zealand. Beautiful rolling plains, forest-covered hills, long swathes of beaches and a rich history make this destination much sought-after.
