Kayak in the lagoon's crystal-clear waters

Ranked by Dive Travel Awards as one of the top ten diving resorts in the world, your holiday retreat is set amidst the Marovo Lagoon. With scores of top-rated dive sites in and around the island as well as some of the best snorkelling right off the beach, getting bored is not an option on this holiday!

Your spacious guestroom

Your guestroom at the Uepi Island Resort is a large, spacious bungalow on stilts, and it comes with a king-size bed. Since the resort is eco-friendly and remote, power is generated on the island itself and there is no air-conditioning. But the island, and your room, is fanned by perpetually cool breezes.

Other features include ceiling fans, ensuite bathroom, premium Envirocare Earth toiletries and a large balcony with deck chairs. Your guestroom is set a short stroll away from the beach and has great views of the lagoon and the gardens.

Day 1: Fly from Brisbane to Solomon Islands (ask us for connecting flights!). On landing at Honiara airport, you’ll be greeted by our local island representative who will guide you to the coach transfer to the domestic airport. Fly to Seghe, which is about an hour’s journey. Once you’ve landed on the crushed coral landing strip of Seghe, the resort’s boat will take you on the 18-kilometre trip to the island. It’s a picturesque ride through and through, and just a trailer of Marovo Lagoon’s pristine beauty. Reach the resort island, check into your guest room and voila! Your holiday has started.

Being the only resort on the island, travellers are guaranteed privacy, peace and seclusion. Swim, snorkel and dive the days away and listen to island lore and sea stories at the bar during evenings. The resort grows its own produce and the seafood is always fresh, courtesy of the local fishermen. Your meals are included in the package, so enjoy sumptuous island fare as well as international cuisines every day. Our recommendation: sign up for diving tours. From wrecks to coral dives to canyon dives, this diving special resort will take your breath away with its wealth of underwater beauty.

Day 8: Check out of the resort. The launch will drop you to Seghe, from where a domestic flight will take you to Honiara. At the domestic airport, our local representative will drive you to the international airport for the flight back home to Brisbane. Fly safe and do return back soon!

The Solomon Islands is the opposite of a ‘commercialised beach destination’. Here, travellers are welcomed to simple, carefree living and rich experiences. Just three hours away from Brisbane, this destination is a picture-perfect beach holiday minus the crowds.

With 992 islands giving travellers unlimited access to forest-covered mountains, some of the best diving and fishing spots on the globe, white sand beaches as far as the eye can see, World War II sites and war memorials, lip-smacking Polynesian cuisine – a trip to the Solomons is a holiday to remember.

Tourists can visit villages to see arts and craft forms which have endured for 4,000 years as well as ‘kastoms’ (customs) handed down for generations. Also, as a country which witnessed World War II first-hand, Solomon Islands is a treasure trove of history. Visitors can check out old anti-aircraft/warship guns and installations spread all over the island.

Plus, this island destination is a diver’s paradise. The clear blue ocean covers miles of coral gardens in their multi-coloured majesty, where travellers can swim around silver and golden shoals of fish. Scuba diving, snorkelling, game fishing, wreck diving, wind surfing, kite surfing… every water activity is amazing in the Solomons!
