Itinerary

DAY 1: ARRIVE CHRISTCHURCH (D)

On arrival into Christchurch you will be met by a Grand Pacific Tours representative and transferred to your hotel. 
Hotel Distinction Christchurch (2 nights)

DAY 2: CHRISTCHURCH (B)

Today visit the International Antarctic Centre, followed by a Christchurch city tour and time to journey on board the Christchurch Tram. This evening is free to explore the local cuisine.  

DAY 3: CHRISTCHURCH - ARTHUR’S PASS  - FRANZ JOSEF (B,D)

Board the TranzAlpine, travel through spectacular scenery to Arthur’s Pass. Travel to Hokitika, famous for its Greenstone before arriving into Franz Josef where time is available for a scenic flight (optional, weather permitting) over the spectacular glaciers.

DAY 4: FRANZ JOSEF - QUEENSTOWN (B)

Travel south via the Haast Pass, an area of stunning beauty before arriving into Queenstown. This evening is free to dine at leisure.

DAY 5: QUEENSTOWN (FREE DAY) (B,SD)

Today is a free day for you to explore Queenstown. This evening board the vintage steamship TSS Earnslaw and cruise to Walter Peak Station. Sit back, relax and enjoy a gourmet barbecue dinner followed by a short farm tour before reboarding the TSS Earnslaw for the return cruise.

DAY 6: QUEENSTOWN - MILFORD SOUND OVERNIGHT CRUISE (B,D)   

Merry Christmas! Travel via Te Anau into the Fiordland National Park to Milford Sound for your overnight cruise. View spectacular waterfalls, rainforest, mountains and wildlife. This evening enjoy a delicious Christmas dinner.

DAY 7: MILFORD SOUND - TE ANAU (B,D)

After a hearty breakfast, head back out to the Tasman Sea (weather permitting), then return back to the wharf and enjoy the scenic drive to Te Anau for an afternoon at leisure.

DAY 8: TE ANAU - DUNEDIN (B,D)

Travel to Pukerangi to board The Taieri Gorge Limited for a journey through spectacular scenery. On arrival in Dunedin your coach will transfer you to the hotel.
Hotel Scenic Hotel Southern Cross (2 nights)

DAY 9: DUNEDIN (B,SD)

Travel to Larnach Castle for a guided tour followed by a delicious Devonshire Tea. Return to the city for an city tour and time at leisure. Tonight a Scottish evening will be presented comprising of bagpipes, great food, Haggis Ceremony and gift.

DAY 10: DUNEDIN - CHRISTCHURCH (B,SD)

Visit Olveston, a prosperous merchants’ home from the turn of the century before travelling to Oamaru, famous for its limestone. This evening enjoy a farewell dinner with your new found friends.

DAY 11: DEPART CHRISTCHURCH (B)

Time to say goodbye. You will be transferred to the airport for your flight home after a memorable New Zealand holiday.

PASSPORT AND VISA REQUIREMENTS
customs.govt.nz
All visitors require a passport to enter New Zealand. Your passport must be valid for at least three months past the date that you intend to leave. For Australian citizens travelling on an Australian passport or Australian residents with a current resident return visa - you do not need a visa or permit to visit New Zealand.

LUGGAGE LIMITS
Due to limited space on board the coach, please ensure carry-on bags do not exceed 6kg. Each traveller is entitled to travel with ONE suitcase on tour measuring (length + width + depth) no more than 140cm (55”). Approximately, the maximum suitcase weight allowed is 23kg.

CLOTHING
Whilst on tour, dress is informal and relaxed on most occasions. Smart casual clothes are acceptable at most restaurants. The seasons are more pronounced and the weather is more changeable. In summer, a jacket and sweater should be included in your luggage should the weather turn cooler or you visit higher altitudes. You can expect some rain, so also include a light rainproof jacket or coat.

INCIDENTALS
We suggest you allow a minimum of NZ $40 - $50 per day per person for incidental cash expenses such as lunch, morning and afternoon tea.
