Day 1 - Board the Indian Pacific in Sydney (D)
Departing Sydney's Central Station, the anticipation builds for the trip ahead as you settle into your first evening on the Indian Pacific enjoying the fabulous food, wine, service and social atmosphere of this much-loved rail journey.
Day 2 - Broken Hill and Adelaide - Indian Pacific (B, L, D)
After breakfast, prepare for your first Off-Train Excursion in Broken Hill, followed by a day enjoying the outback scenery. in the afternoon, arrive in Adelaide, where you'll have more Off-Train Excursions to choose from, before returning to the train and continuing your journey west.
Day 3 - Nullarbor Plain - Indian Pacific (B, L, D)
Today is all about those amazing outback views as you cross this famous stretch of the Australian interior. Dinner this evening is under an outback sky (seasonal).
Day 4 - Arrive Perth - Indian Pacific (B, L)
Watch the delightful Avon Valley pass by as the final stage of your transcontinental crossing unfolds heading into Perth, where your connection with the Indian Ocean begins.
Day 5 - Perth - Leisure day (B)
Today is yours to explore cosmopolitan Perth and surrounds at your leisure. Why not take a stroll to the new Elizabeth Quay or cruise the Swan River? If you're feeling a little more adventurous, then take a journey to the Pinnacles, a limestone formation within the Nambung National Park and one of many Western Australian natural wonders.
Day 6 - Perth to Exmouth & Ningaloo Reef (B, D)
Today your flight to Exmouth transports you to another world. Your eco-luxe accommodation for the next three nights, the Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef is a beachside safari camp with just 16 wilderness tents surrounded by the pristine bush and beaches of the Cape Range National Park. Enjoy the day exploring this amazing location, teeming with native wildlife.
Day 7 - Ningaloo Reef (B, L, D)
Prepare for a life-changing experience. Depending on the time of year, you have the chance to swim with whale sharks (Mar to Jul) or humpback whales (Aug to Oct) on the world famous Ningaloo Reef! These incredible opportunities are restricted to small groups and you will be escorted the whole way, travelling aboard a luxury vessel, guided by a spotter plan from above. Snorkels and wetsuits are provided. Lunch is also included and even a glass of bubbly to celebrate an encounter with nature that you'll never forget!
Day 8 - Ningaloo Reef (B, L, D)
Today is yours to enjoy more of Ningaloo from Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef. Go snorkelling along the coral reef literally on your doorstep to swim among 500 species of fish, 250 species of coral and 600 species of mollusc. Join a guided walk through spectacular Mandy Mandu and Yardie Creek Gorges, or perhaps go kayaking or fishing.
Day 9 - Ningaloo Reef and Exmouth to Perth flight (B)
Your morning flight back to Perth leaves the afternoon free to enjoy more of the Western Australian capital.
Day 10 - Farewell from Perth (B)
After breakfast, check out of your accommodation and make your way to the airport for your flight home.

Platinum Service (twin & double share)
Boasting deluxe extras such as Platinum Transfers, in-cabin breakfasts and access to the Platinum Lounge and Restaurant, Platinum Service promises and delivers a journey beyond expectations. The first thing you'll notice about your Platinum cabin is the abundance of space, almost twice the size of a Gold Twin Cabin. By day your cabin is configured as a private lounge with deluxe lounge seating, a table and two ottomans. By night you'll sleep easy as the lounges convert to a comfortable bedroom with either a double bed or twin beds.
Gold Service (twin share or single)
You'll enjoy private cabin accommodation together with all-inclusive dining, beverages and a range of fascinating Off Train Excursions at key stops. Gold Service accommodation is available in both single and twin-share so you can choose to travel with your partner, friends or roll solo.
During the day, the compact Twin Berth Sleeper Cabins offer a comfortable three seater lounge, converting to an upper and lower sleeping berth at night. And with top notch service from our hospitality attendant, you'll enjoy fresh sheets, bath towels, pillows, doonas and complimentary toiletries. Twin Berth Sleeper Cabins have private en suite facilities with a hide-away compact toilet, wash basin and shower.

Luggage?
Guests should bring an overnight bag to their cabin containing everything needed for the journey. Each guest travelling are entitled to checked in luggage, however checked in luggage cannot be accessed during the journey. In Gold service guests are allowed 2 bags x 30kg and guests travelling in Platinum Service are allowed 3 bags x 30kg.
Can I take any pets or animals with me on-train?
No - the only animals permitted on GSR services are specially trained dogs for the vision and hearing impaired.
Can I take my walking frame/wheelchair/ scooter on board the train?
No - these items must be checked-in as stored luggage. A specially modified pushchair can be requested for use on train (with the assistance of a Carer or travelling companion) - PLEASE INFORM US AT TIME OF BOOKING.
Does the train carry power outlets for CPAC machines?
Cabins on the Indian Pacific have 240V power outlets installed which can be used for a CPAC machine. It is recommended that a surge arrestor/protector be used to protect the machine when it is plugged in case of a power surge.
Can I pre-book my Off-Train Excursions?
Off Train Excursions preferences can only be organised once on board the train and are not able to be pre-booked. The only exception to this is for The Ghan Expedition, where the Uluru Scenic Flight can be booked prior to travel.
Do I need any cash or credit cards onboard?
As the rail journeys are all-inclusive you will not need to buy anything unless you choose to purchase an Off Train Excursion upgrade or souvenirs, which you can do onboard utilising our EFTPOS or credit card facilities.
Dress Code onboard the train?
Smart casual attire is suggested for guests travelling in Platinum Service and Gold Service. Warm clothes are recommended for evenings onboard the train, as the air-conditioning can be cool. It is recommended that guests pack a hat, sunscreen and comfortable walking shoes for off-train touring. Sensible shoes are advisable for walking between carriages. Long, sturdy pants may be required for some Off Train Excursions.
