Platinum Service (twin & double share) -

Boasting deluxe extras such as Platinum Transfers, in-cabin breakfasts and access to the Platinum Lounge and Restaurant, Platinum Service promises and delivers a journey beyond expectations. The first thing you'll notice about your Platinum cabin is the abundance of space, almost twice the size of a Gold Twin Cabin. By day your cabin is configured as a private lounge with deluxe lounge seating, a table and two ottomans. By night you'll sleep easy as the lounges convert to a comfortable bedroom with either a double bed or twin beds.

Gold Service (twin share & single) -

You'll enjoy private cabin accommodation together with all-inclusive dining, beverages and a range of fascinating Off Train Excursions at key stops. Gold Service accommodation is available in both single and twin-share so you can choose to travel with your partner, friends or roll solo.

During the day, the compact Twin Berth Sleeper Cabins offer a comfortable three seater lounge, converting to an upper and lower sleeping berth at night. And with top notch service from our hospitality attendant, you'll enjoy fresh sheets, bath towels, pillows, doonas and complimentary toiletries. Twin Berth Sleeper Cabins have private en suite facilities with a hide-away compact toilet, wash basin and shower.

Day 1 (Thursday)- Board the Indian Pacific in Adelaide (D)

Start your journey with a delicious welcome dinner before joining the Indian Pacific, where you can settle in to your cabin or mingle with fellow travellers in the Outbck Explorer Lounge.

Day 2 (Friday) - Indian Pacific, Nullarbor Plain (B, L, D) 

Travelling Australia’s longest straight stretch of railway is an amazing experience. The outback scenery continues to change as you journey along the famous Nullarbor Plain. In the afternoon, we visit remote Cook for a leg stretch followed by dinner this evening under an outback sky (seasonal).

Day 3 (Saturday) - Indian Pacific, Perth (B, L) 

Enjoy breakfast as the delightful Avon Valley passes by your window. The final stage of this transcontinental crossing unfolds as you head into Perth just after lunch.

Day 4 (Sunday) - Perth - free time (B)

It might be the largest State in Australia but its capital city is a wonderfully compact centre packed with things to see and do. Enjoy your day at leisure in Perth visiting Kings Park, Barrack Square or the many museums and galleries.

Day 5 (Monday) - Margaret River

Today you get to experience one of the most picturesque wine regions in the world that is also one of the great premium wine producers. Your full-day Margaret River experience includes much more than cellar door tastings of acclaimed wines. On the way, you’ll get to walk the longest wooden jetty in the southern hemisphere at Busselton, take a guided tour of the spectacular Mammoth Cave, drive through Boranup Forest with its towering 60 metre tall karri trees, visit Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse and the Margaret River township and brewery. Day 6 (Tuesday) - Perth - Broome (B)

This morning your adventure continues with a flight to beautiful Broome. Here you have the afternoon free to enjoy this uniquely multicultural resort town and its famous 22-kilometre long Cable Beach.

Day 7 (Wednesday) - Broome (B)

Your guide reveals the colourful story behind the growth of Broome. Pearling has been influential in shaping modern Broome, and you’ll get a 90-minute masterclass on this fascinating industry along with a Pearling Master’s High Tea. Visit famous Cable Beach, the dinosaur tracks of Gantheaume Point, well-known Matso’s Brewery, the Japanese Cemetery, and more.

Day 8 (Thursday) - Broome - free time (B)

Your day is at leisure to enjoy more of Broome and its surrounds.

Day 9 (Friday) - Broome - free time (B)

Today is free for you to explore Broome – visit historic Chinatown overlooking Roebuck Bay, shop for pearls, or take a sunset camel ride along Cable Beach.

Day 10 (Saturday) - Broome to home (B)

This morning reminisce about your adventure from Perth to Broome as it comes to an end.

FAQs

Luggage?

Guests should bring an overnight bag to their cabin containing everything needed for the journey. Each guest travelling are entitled to checked in luggage, however checked in luggage cannot be accessed during the journey. In Gold service guests are allowed 2 bags x 30kg and guests travelling in Platinum Service are allowed 3 bags x 30kg.

Can I take any pets or animals with me on-train?

No - the only animals permitted on GSR services are specially trained dogs for the vision and hearing impaired.

Can I take my walking frame/wheelchair/ scooter on board the train?

No - these items must be checked-in as stored luggage. A specially modified pushchair can be requested for use on train (with the assistance of a Carer or travelling companion) - PLEASE INFORM US AT TIME OF BOOKING.

Does the train carry power outlets for CPAC machines?

Cabins on the Indian Pacific have 240V power outlets installed which can be used for a CPAC machine. It is recommended that a surge arrestor/protector be used to protect the machine when it is plugged in case of a power surge.

Can I pre-book my Off-Train Excursions?

Off Train Excursions preferences can only be organised once on board the train and are not able to be pre-booked. The only exception to this is for The Ghan Expedition, where the Uluru Scenic Flight can be booked prior to travel.

Do I need any cash or credit cards onboard?

As the rail journeys are all-inclusive you will not need to buy anything unless you choose to purchase an Off Train Excursion upgrade or souvenirs, which you can do onboard utilising our EFTPOS or credit card facilities.

Dress Code onboard the train?

Smart casual attire is suggested for guests travelling in Platinum Service and Gold Service. Warm clothes are recommended for evenings onboard the train, as the air-conditioning can be cool. It is recommended that guests pack a hat, sunscreen and comfortable walking shoes for off-train touring. Sensible shoes are advisable for walking between carriages. Long, sturdy pants may be required for some Off Train Excursions.
